With Australia Day upon us tomorrow, I thought I would post a recipe for lamingtons! I am about to get into the kitchen and whip up a batch to take to a friend's farm tomorrow. I believe there is a barbecue, croquet and sunshine on the menu! Happy Australia Day everyone! Be safe...

Occassionally, I like to have a 24 hour period where all I consume are liquids. Whether it be soups, smoothies, juices or water. It gives the digestive system a break. Banana smoothies are my favourite at the moment. In a blender, mix milk, ice, honey, LSA (ground nuts found in health food stores) and 1 banana. It is delicious and very healthy! It is quite filling, too. You can make this smoothie with different fruits. Blueberries are great and full of antioxidants. Strawberries are great, too. Enjoy!

Donna Hay has the most beautiful desserts and they are so easy yet so effective! I am going to make this one today to have tonight. I just hope it sets in time!

I came across a dessert in Madison magazine which looks absolutely beautiful for the warmer weather. Sorbets and ice cream desserts are a favourite throughout the summer months and this one looks divine - and very pretty!

A few people have asked me what I am having for lunch for Christmas Day. I am hosting this year and I'm so looking forward to it! Gone are the days of the traditional roast turkey and ham. These days, people are getting a little more adventurous, however, the roasts are still a favourite. I am cooking a delicious (well, I'm sure it wil be) Donna Hay Pork. Roast vegetables will accompany as well as a beautiful crisp, green salad. Yummo! Then, it will all be about the afternoon nap at about 4 o 'clock!

Whenever mum asked my sister Jacquie and I what we would like for dinner when we were young, we would always say the same thing - "Asparagus chicken!" It was a favourite of mums to make, too when we had babysitters (hello Steph Backhouse wherever you are!) Basically, you buy chicken fillets and brown them in a pan. You can use a cooked chook if you would like. Place the chicken in an oven-proof dish, pour a can of cream of asparagus soup over the chicken and top with ezxtra asparaus tips and spears. Top with parmesan cheese and bake for approximately half an hour. Serve with either rice or mashed potato. It is SO easy and absolutely delicious!

I was recently looking through some cookbooks to find a yummy entree for Christmas day when I came across this simple and effective starter. Looks divine and would taste even better, I think!

This recipe is out of the Delicious book featured on the following blog. I'm going to give it a try next week. If anybody else tries it, let me know how you go! Looks yummo!

Who doesn't love chocolate?! This is a chocolate cheese cake from Julie Goodwin's new cookbook, The Heart of the Home. I can't wait to try it! If you do, please let me know how it goes. Judging by the photograph, I think just one slice won't be enough! Happy baking

A friend of mine, Jasmin told me about a juice she has been having every morning. It is called CABALA juice, (click on link to find out more about it). The juice gets its name from the beginning initial of the fruit and vegies that are in it. Carrots, Apples, Beetroot, Apples, Lemons, Apples. The apples are three sorts - red, green and yellow. This juice is super fabulous for your liver, giving it a great cleans. YUMMO!!
