Songs for Darcy

I spoke to my mum today and she told me about a song she used to sing over and over when she was a little girl that would drive her mum, dad and sister crazy!  I looked up the song on Youtube and was delighted to find it!  Now, every time I play it, Darcy laughs!  The 'Abba Dabba Honeymoon' song is so cute!  Click HERE to watch and listen to the song.  And another song she loves is a song I have sung her every morning when she wakes up since the day she was born.  'Good Morning' is also a fun, happy song.  Click  HERE to listen to that one, too!  (I also have a song I sing her about poo, but that one is for Darcy and Rob's ears only!)

Happy Australia Day!

Happy Australia Day everyone!  I can just imagine all the barbecues, backyard cricket games, vegemite sandwiches, Australian flags, blowflies and cork hats that will be around the country today!  Have a beautiful day and be safe.  Rob, Darcy and myself are off to a friends farm for a barbecue.  I have made lamingtons and making pastry cups with goats cheese, basil and cherry tomatoes.  Yummo!  Enjoy the day!

Beautiful Evening at the Farm...

Tonight at the farm, Rob went outside and worked the horses in the paddock behind the house.  Horses really are amazing animals.  The goings-on was watched closely by Freddy and Benson, our two Jack Russells!

My spunky Farmer!

Beautiful Gardens

Every now and then, I will get on my Ipad and 'Google' beautiful gardens from around the world.  (I'm also rather partial to looking up castles in France!)  It makes me feel happy.  Below are some beautiful designs from France and Italy.

The following images are from 'Villa Melzi' on Lake Como, Italy.  I visited there in 2001 and spent, literally, hours walking the grounds...

My Photographic Assistant, Benson!

The other day, I was photographing some food shots and thought it looked cute that one of our dogs, Benson was under the table keeping an eye on things.  Or was it that he was waiting for a stray bit of macroon to drop to the floor?!  A few photographs I have taken...

My Favourite Dresses at the Golden Globes

Posted by Jo on 18 January 2012 | 0 Comments

The new year has begun which means the awards season is just around the corner.  Which means red carpet appearances, which means spectacular gowns to ogle at!  The Golden Globes were held two days ago and below are my favourite dresses from the red carpet.

Elle Macpherson looked absolutely divine.  This gown was fabulous, and it makes such a difference to see a smile!

This gown is superb.  The splash of red is fabulous. Angelina Jolie.

Who wouldn't want to show off legs like those?!  Charlize Theron.

So elegant...  Claire Danes.

Inexpensive table decorations

Posted by Jo on 14 January 2012 | 1 Comments

I photographed a wedding recently which saw mismatched jars used as vases.  It looked so effective and even better, it is inexpensive.  It goes to show you can create effective table settings for next to nothing.  On Christmas day, I collected large twigs which had fallen from one of our gum trees and hung red baubles and candy canes from the twigs.  It looked gorgeous, and again, cheap as chips!  Below are the table decorations from Deeon and Ben's wedding last week.  (Held at The Barn, Mount Gambier).

Just another example of using jars as vases.  Looks divine!
